New Cumnock Waggonway

Opened in 1838 it served the New Cumnock iron works, to the south of Bank and westwards to a number of coal an iron mines. This waggonway was eventually replaced in 1850 by a branch line from the Glasgow Dumfries and Carlisle railway. This branch had two inclines on its route. A further line was later opened from Pennyvenie Colliery to Beoch.
