There is only indirect evidence for this horse, but it is quite persuasive. Pitstone hill has been cited with three pieces of a horse by local historian (Jean Davis) from a 1809 parish map. A mention of a lane which runs by the horse was given in the will of Henry Partridge. White horse way and a field abutting a white horse have also been mentioned in the early literature. No trace of it can be seen today.
